In the early 2000s, the Rush Hour movies were the pinnacle of racial commentary — at least by Hollywood standards. To be fair, this wasn’t a particularly highbrow moment for the blockbuster movie business, and watching Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker clumsily unpack racist stereotypes while solving crimes was about as good as it got.
